Herno, a brand with over 70 years of history, finds its inspiration in water—a muse that influenced its creation of high-performance raincoats beginning in 1948.
Founded by Giuseppe Marenzi and Alessandra Diana, the company emerged post-war, integrating innovation with Italian craftsmanship to design functional outerwear. Initially focusing on raincoats, Herno expanded to women's garments in the 1950s and ventured into international markets by the 1960s, including Japan and the U.S. The brand's quality attracted prestigious French and Italian designers in the 1990s. In the 2000s, Herno revitalized its production methods, emphasizing a strong Made-in-Italy identity. The brand introduced several lines: Herno Laminar in 2012 for urban activewear, Herno Kids in 2014, the sustainable Herno Globe in 2019, and footwear under Herno Laminar Movement Engineering in 2020.
