Inis Meáin Bréidín Crew Neck Knitted Sweater - Navy

Relaxed contemporary elegance and lightweight, all-day warmth combine in our Bréidín Cashmere Sweater, named in honour of its Island inspiration. Bréidín is the Irish word for tweed, and a century ago handmade tweed vests were a staple of the local tailor. New to our Online Store for Autumn/Winter 2024, this is our lightest weight Crew Neck Sweater as the Bréidín stitch creates a wonderful lofty texture giving warmth without weight, while offering distinctive colour and stitch interest emulating the subtle nuances of tweed fabrics. Crafted with super-premium Cashmere and Merino yarn from Italian heritage producer, Filati Biagioli Modesto, made to the highest European environmental standards using only organic dyes.Available in Beige Mix, a stand-out sweater with intricate khaki and olive stitching in the body contrasted with fresh colour-block beige trims, and Navy Mix, a more subtle combination of deep Navy and Brown. Designed, made and hand-finished in our Aran Islands workshop.

Care

This garment is made using some of nature's most luxurious natural fibres, Cashmere and Extra Fine Merino Wool. This yarn has a characteristic crimp making it susceptible to pilling over time. To protect against pilling do not wear underneath other woolen layers or velcros and do not over-wash. Hand wash in water no more than 30 degrees using a mild detergent. Lay on a flat surface to dry.
