A heavy linen chore jacket inspired by the traditional "Bleu de Travail," which Vétra has been producing since its inception for French workers. The modern version is 5 cm shorter for a contemporary look. Initially, linen was used due to its local availability in Europe, particularly in Normandy, while cotton was imported. By the 18th century, cotton became cheaper and was mixed with linen. In 1927, Vétra began providing workers with jackets made from a cotton-linen blend known as bisonne and 100% heavy linen. At that time, mills primarily produced blue and black fabrics, but by the 1920s, they expanded to include brown. Some mills also provided natural ecru or bleached white fabrics.
